Very good. I come here and only here when I'm craving New Mexican food but I don't have the time to make it out to Sadies. Remember this is good food but fast, so basically in the fast food category. They make bulk quantity so they just assemble as ordered, but Damn it's still good. Now if you have time to go to a regular location instead of an express location, the food quality will be way better, so don't think all little anitas are fast food. I usually get the Mexican combo plate with red and green Chile, it's $8.25 and it comes with a cheese enchilada, pork tamale, beef taco, beans, rice and sopapilla. Very large meal, and worth the price! Newly remodeled inside, nice dining area or they have a convenient drive thru. Usual wait time for a couple plate meals is about 5 minutes if there is nobody else there, not bad at all!

I've been going to Little Anita's for years at various locations around Albuquerque. It was only about a year ago that I came upon this drive-thru location, and at first I was suspicious. Surly it couldn't be as good as the sit-down restaurants, I thought. Well, it's close. The salsa and chile is the same as you'll find at other locations, and the other recipes tend to be the same. Other reviewers are correct in saying that the line of cars is slow to move; I've sat there between 5-10 minutes most times. I'd like to believe it is because the food is fresh; every order I have had there was fresh and hot. Growing up in ABQ and now living in DC, I wish we had more places like a New Mexican drive thru on the East Coast. When I come back home, it makes getting my green chile fix easy.

I'm new in town, heard about this place and went there on an impulse in late afternoon. I was the only one eating inside, so I read a newspaper while I ate. The food was really good, and a very generous serving. I was stuffed, so I took the sopapilla and the little packet of 'sopapilla syrup' home with me. I read that the ingredients of the syrup are #1 high fructose corn syrup, and #2 corn syrup!! How much honey can be in that little packet? Certainly less than the corn syrups. That's terrible quality, and I won't eat that. Otherwise, the food was good, of course, not knowing what's really in any of it. Does make you suspicious.

Tamales are good and so is the guacamole. I'm not a fan of the nachos or the breakfast burritos.

I absolutely love this place! It's close to home and their food is delicious. My favorite thing to eat here is their #5 the rio grande breakfast burrito. I think it's the only place in town that adds refries beans and chorizo to their breakfast burrito

I'm so addicted to this place, it's ridiculous. In the midst of unpacking and working on our new home, my husband wanted some Mexican food for lunch,so, he popped over to Little Anita's since it's right down the street from us. When he returned, he brought home a drool worthy Chicken Taco Salad that was, by far, one of the best I've ever had...and that says a lot because there's a place in my hometown that makes fantastic chicken taco salads. The chicken was hot off the grill, the guacamole was excellent and the lettuce was nice and crisp! Massive two thumbs up!

After a good experience at the Little Anita's restaurant in Old Town, we were excited when we noticed this express location in Rio Rancho. We decided to order breakfast burritos before church. We ordered at the drive through and then waited about 20 minutes. Displeased with the wait we were encouraged with the thought that the burritos must be fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The eggs were burned and the overall flavor was only okay. I did like the texture of the chile (a large piece rather than chopped). My husband was extremely disappointed and I'm pretty sure we missed church. I decided to give this place another try. My second experience was good. The drive-thru moved at a decent speed and my burrito hit the spot. I convinced my husband to give Little Anita's another try. He picked the burritos up and brought them home. I wasn't impressed. I think they are flavorful and the portion is good. I don't really think there is anything standout about this burrito, but I'd be willing to go again, by myself.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
